Bury My Heart At Wounded Knee

Description

A picture taken near Lancaster, Pa. The look of this photo is like the land near the Wounded Knee Creek where the infamous massacre took place in Montana.

The few lone trees, gray sky and bare land reminded me of the film version's look on that cold winter day. It's really a good movie, but very sad. I suggest everyone see it.

Not until a two months ago, did I learn about Sand Creek and Wounded Knee in History. I checked out Bury my Heart at Wounded Knee, and I am still reading it. My mother and I have expressed our anguish and our anger at the injustices. My mother who is half cherokee, and I am only 10% maybe 11 or 12% at most, but I still value t more then I do the Irish within me. How people can do that to somebody, just because they wanted their land, or feared The Ghost Dance is a really crappy reason to kill them. They were NEVER the savage ones. I will be forever thankful that my mother enlightened me to these events, even though it's very hard for me to think about, I know I must learn the truth. I hope people my age will become more enlightened to what happened one day.
